A
new phone client has been developed with a new user interface. The client is
based on the open source UI implementation FireME. Beside from
having a great look and feel it has a much
better support of touch based phones.

4.0 is compatible with the phone client 3.0 and both the client 3.0 and 4.0
is included in the
release.

Bluetooth Remote Control 4.0 - Phone Client

A
new phone client has been developed with a new user interface. The client is
based on the open source UI implementation FireME. Beside from
having a great look and feel it supports touch based phones.
The new phone client is backwards compatible with
Bluetooth Remote Control 3.0 This release only covers the phone client and you need to have
the BRC 3.0 installed before using it.

slightly and is available

- The transport layer between
the phone and pc is rewritten to both gain performance as well as
stability. The old optimization mode is thus obsolete and removed.

- Mouse mode improvements to improve stability
- The instability is caused by the large amount of data that is
sent to the phone. A new user setting is implemented that allow the
user to set how large the desktop is on the phone. Default is 50%
and this reduce the data traffic
- Stability optimization has been improved and with this enabled
we cannot recreate the instability problems. This is now set to
default on.
- How the phone receives byte is improved. With this some
earlier phones that we did not support will be supported e.g. Nokia
6600
- The BlueSoleil stack is now automatically detected. And how to set
the correct COM port is step-by-step described in the help file.
- ERROR: WinAMP search did not find all matches. The artist is also
included and on a match the corresponding song is displayed.

- Improved support for the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack. The stack is
automatically detected and the right COM port is set. So no
configuration is needed on PC! The only configuration needed is to set
the phone in "COM port" connect method.

- Repeat keys in keymaps. This is a very big improvement that allows
the user to hold down keys and still e.g. increase/ decrease volume. All
keymaps have been updated to reflect this.
- Mouse mode has been completely redesigned.

- Simple editing on pc from phone with
carriage return, clear key and space.
- Performance and usability improvements.
- Presentation mode stopping the computer from going into standby,

- The COM port version and the native one has been merged into one
common version. This means that the latest version of Bluetooth Remote
Control now supports all Bluetooth PC solutions on the market.
The entire COM port functionality has been rewritten and the old
limitation of only supporting COM1-16 has been removed.

The new media script did contain a severe bug causing it to crash on
some computers. We are still working on a fix for this problem but in
the meantime this version is released. It contains all improvements in
2.0 except the new Media Player Script. Instead the old one is used with
extended support for shuffle and repeat.

- New user interface on the phone! All applications uses full screen
with dedicated soft keys. Varies graphical objects have been introduces
for a more attractive look.

- Bluetooth Remote Control PC program could not be launched if the
user was not the administrator on the machine. The program did crash
with an error message because it was not possible to get access to the
setting file.

- If the program do not detect the Micorsoft or Widcomm Bluetooth
solution! The user is asked to download
a new version of the program that supports the Bluetooth solution via
COM port. This version which is the 28 December 2005 one can also be
downloaded

now required for both the Microsoft and Widcomm Bluetooth solutions.

- The phone user interface is improved and is now transparent to the
current theme. So Bluetooth Remote Control have the same look and feel
as the rest of the phone.
